to the head of each household ex-
plaining the fire hazards peculiar
to each type of housing unit" and
which are directly applicable to
them.
During the inspection the smoke
detectors will be tested and bat-
teries replaced. If a defective de-
tector is found it will be replaced.
Also at this time the "Invalid Mar-
king" program will be updated. Win-
dow stickers that indicate children
or invalids rooms will be installed
or relocated as necessary.

scribe the program, Operation EDITH,
(Exit Drill In The Home). "In an
attempt to avoid tragedies or a loss
of life here in Keflavik as part of
the home inspection program the
Naval Station Fire inspectors will
also deliver material to each house-
hold to enable the family to make
plans for the station-wide Operation
"EDITH" on October 21st," he said.

On Monday, September 15, the Fire
Department will inspect Bldg. 914-1
Maple from 9:30 a.m. to noon; Bldg.
914- 2 Maple from 1 to 3 p.m.; and
Bldg. 914-3 Maple from 3:30 to 5:30
p.m.
On Tuesday, September 16, Bldg.
915- 4 Maple and Bldg. 916-5 Holly,
apartments la and b, will be inspec-
ted from 9:30 a.m. to noon; apart-
ments 2a, b and c and 3a, b and c
of Bldg. 916-5 Holly and apartments
la and b of Bldg. 916-6 from 1 to 3
p.m.; apartments 2a, b and c, and 3a
b and c of Bldg. 916-6 Holly and
apartments la, b and c, 2a, b and c
of Bldg. 916-7 Holly from 3:30 to
5:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, September 17,

spected from 9:30 a.m. to noon; from
1 to 3 p.m. all of Bldg. 921-5 Elm;
and from 3:30 to 5:50 p.m. all of
Bldg. 921-6 Elm.

has the communications service you need. It's called a class "E" tele-
gram, sent in message form and entered into the Western Dnion telegram
system. That's right, U. S. Military, civilian employees and dependents
can send a Western Union telegram right here from the agreed area. All
you have to do is visit the Naval Communications Station, Building 839 and
ask for a class "E" form at the message pickup window.
There are several types of class "E" messages. They are Mailgrams,
Overnight Telegrams and Full Rate Telegrams. Mailgrams are the most inex-
pensive type of class "E" messages. They are sent to the Western Union
Office nearest the mailing address of the addressee, and will be delivered
in the next day's mail. Overnight Telegrams are sent to Western Union and
the addressee called during working hours, the text read, and the telegram
sent via mail the next day. The Full Rate Telegram Is sent to the Western
Minion and the addressee called when the telegram is received whether it is
Bring working hours or after.

operations. Conversion of personal
accounts from American Express to
the Fort Sam Houston Bank will be
very simple and will require only
completion of a single or joint
signature card provided by the Fort
Sam Houston Bank for holders of
savings and checking accounts. The
new bank will provide 200 free
checks to all holders of checking
accounts.
