Exit Drill In The Homes at 5 p.m. AIMD sewing jacket reflectors The AIMD Paraloft, located in Hangar 831, will sew reflective tape on all military and civilian jackets for the following commands this month: Security on Oct. 20- 22; Weapons and ComFairKef on Oct. 23-24; NISRA, Navy Broadcasting, Navy Exchange and Commissary Store n Oct. 27-31. ew ribbon for sailors Are you eligible for the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon? Well, if you served in a deployed unit for more than 90 consecutive days after Aug. 15, 1974, then you may qualify for the new ribbon. For more information about your eligibility contact your adminis- trative office. Christmas in Europe The Tour Office is offering Christmas Tours to the following places: Copenhagen, Glasgow, London, Luxemburg, Oslo and Stock- holm. These tours require a de- parture between the 1st and 31st of December, and a minimum stay of 10 days and a maximum of 45 days. For more information on these tours, call the Tour Office at 4420. Servmart opens new branch A new special program provided through the cooperative efforts of the Supply Department and the Navy Exchange will now allow private in- dividuals to purchase Servmart items t the Navy Exchange Gas Station on daily basis beginning October 31. rivate individuals will no longer be able to purchase items at the Servmart on Friday afternoons. SecNav honors ComFair with Unit Commendation The commendation cites the staff of Commander Iceland Sector Anti- submarine Warfare Task Group 24.1 for their contributions to the United States' commitment to NATO while coordinating sensitive mis- sions with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the Canadian Mari- time Patrol Headquarters. The citation reads in part, "By their sustained exemplary perfor- mance, exceptional professional ded- ication and tenacious devotion to duty, the officers and enlisted per- sonnel of Task Group 24.1 reflected great credit upon themselves and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service." VP-23 of the Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine, was included in the award. VP-23 was the deployed Patrol Squadron at Keflavik during the period of the award. Commander E. L. Naro relieved Commander P. C. Baxter as Commanding Officer of VP- 23 in another ceremony at Brunswick Tuesday. Commander Iceland Sector Anti- submarine Warfare Group is respon- sible to Commander in Chief, U. S. Atlantic Fleet for conducting anti- submarine and maritime surveillance operations in the North Atlantic, Norwegian Sea and Denmark Strait. Assigned forces normally include a deployed Patrol Squadron operating P-3C Orion aircraft. Major Green assumes Marine Barracks command Major W. W. Green (r) accepts the Marine Corps unit colors frr-n Major R. F. Itnyre during change of com- mand ceremonies con- ducted on Tuesday. Major Itnyre's next assignment is in San Diego, California. Major Green's last as- signment was as the Inspector - Instructor for a Reserve Unit in Harrisburg, Pennsyl- vania. The Navy Unit Commendation was awarded to Commander Iceland Sector Antisubmarine Warfare Group and Com- mander Fleet Air Keflavik Friday for exceptionally meritorious service while directing maritime patrol operations in the North Atlantic Ocean and the Norwegian Sea. Rear Admiral Richard A. Martini, Commander Iceland Defense Force, presented the award during cere- monies held in Hangar 831. The meritorious service was performed in support of the United States and the North Atlantic '"reaty Organization from September 6, 1979 to March 14, 1980. RADM Richard A. Martini (right) pre- sents the Navy Unit Commendation to ComFaiiKef's CDR William Rodriguez. Included in this award was VP-23, the deployed Patrol Squadron for the period of the award.
