Grant demands pay for play
The Winter Intramural Bowling League
organizational meeting is scheduled for
Friday, August 20 at 3 p.m. in the Top of
the Rock. All commands wishing to have
bowling teams in the winter league should
send a representative to this meeting.
League by-laws will be voted on. Any
team not represented at this meeting will
lose their franchise. Any command wishing
to have an additional team enty should
send a memo to the Intramural Coordinator:
Eric C. Firkin, 932 ACWS/DOT. If there
are any questions call him at 7526 during
working hours or 4808 after working hours.
Leagues will commence bowling during
the week of September 13. Leagues will
not bowl during the weeks of December
20 and 27.

Winter bowling league meeting
If Minnesota Vikings coach Bud Grant
doesn't show up at tomorrows NFL Hall of
Fame game, some of his players won't show
up either.
Grant has said he and his staff will
stride the game in Canton, Ohio, if they
are.not paid. Vikings player represent-
ative, Fred McNeill says of Grant, "If he
strikes, then I'll strike." Running back
Ted Brown says the Vikings, "couldn't play
without coaches."

Base golf team in tournament
Seventeen players from the NATO Base
golf team took part in a golf tournament
in Reykjavik on July 31 with to|uavik's
Ness golf team.
The tournament was the fii^^PF two that
the teams will play together. The second
will be palyed in early September
Keflavik.
Coming in first in the scraj
etition was Paul Wilson from;
with a 78, second place went
Oleson of Ness with a 79.
First place in the handicap division
went to Larry Hanson of the NATO team with
a 65 and second place was won by Bjorn
Kristjanss of Ness with a 67.
The team totals were Ness 711 and NATO
731.
The NATO Base golf team plays in several
tournaments in Iceland throughout the
season and anyone interested in playing
should contact Master Chief Cristwell at
PSD or call the Base Gym.
