The Marine Barracks boosted
their contributions to the Am-
erican Overseas Campaign
above the 100% mark as the
drive came to a close last week.

identified Navy man is tearing
down the old in preparation to
putting on the new. When cons-
truction is completed, the build-
ing will be used by all com-
mands for recreational pur-
poses.
On June 30th of each year all U.S. civilian personnel of the Naval Station
receive a performance rating on the quantity and quality of their work and
on their adapability. In order to be eligible for an outstanding rating it takes
sustained excellent performance on all of these qualities.
For the first time in the history of the Defense Force in Iceland this
rating plan was also placed into effect for Icelandic employees engaged in
administrative and professional work.
Captain S.E. Ellison, USN, CO, NAVSTA, happily passed out his con-
gratulations and cash awards to ten civilian employees for outstanding per-
formance rating and sustained superior performance.
