6 Former presidential yacht, the Mayflower, used by seven presi- dents from Theodore Roosevelt to Herbert Hoover, undergoes reconditioning at Norfolk, Va., for use as Coast Guard convoy escort vessel under the name of Butte. Shortly after picture was taken, the posse fanned out over the rough countryside to track down killer who terrorized vicinity.
