Thirty-five swimmers took to the Base Gym’s
pool last Friday in the Admiral’s Cup swim
meet. CFK/IDF took first place by beating out
NAS, 206 to 146.
“I never thought I’d be participating in a
swim meet in Iceland,” said Adam Smithyman
of CFK/IDF. The meet consisted of nine
events, both individual and team races.
“For each place finish that a command had,
they received a certain amount of points,”
explained Athletic Director Art Benjamin.
The 932nd Air Control Squadron took third
place with 105 points. Eighty-Fifth Supply and
the Weather Office rounded out the standings
with 74 points and seven points respectively.
Only two events remain in Admiral’s Cup
competition. A billiards tournament will be
held later this month, and the Shortest Day
Fun Run is scheduled for Dec. 21.
