Now that the “White Falcon”
is back on a regular schedule with
its full eight pages, “Just A Mo-
ment Please” will resume its week-
ly column.
There have been two new edi-
tions to our programing, replac-
ing “Do You Know” and “Explor-
ing.”
Science Report, a program divid-
ed into two seperate half-hour
shows, will be more of an informa-
tive, educational program. The
first program will present the lat-
est development in both the physi-
cal and natural sciences. The sub-
jects covered, in this first of a 26-
week series, will be the automa-
tion in the “Hen House” and the
“Aswan Dam in Egypt.”
The second half of Science Re-
port will include the boring of
a hole through the earth’s crust,
plus, radio and television of the
1970’s.
A Horse That Talks
Mr. Ed, a 26-week series about
a “talking horse” is a comedy both
young and old will enjoy. In the
first show, Wilbur, played by Alan
Young, buys a house and Mr. Ed,
the talking horse, helps Wilbur
finagle the price down $2,000.
Three special programs will be
presented to the interest of each
and every viewer. Yankee Do, a
half-hour program about the
NATO exchange pilot from Scot-
land, tells of his tour of duty
with the United States Navy on
maneuvers in the Mediterranian.
The first hour long segment of
a four-part series, Saga of Wes-
tern Man, traces the westerner’s
history and civilization from 1492
up until present. There are varied
ways to describe this saga. It is
definitely more than a documen-
tary. The words spoken will be
those actually heard in 1492. It
will be a recreation, yet most of
the props and scenery where there

the white sand on a sunny beach.
The Radio Log
By Thomas Nugent, JOS
“Casual Contentment” in the
word for Perry Como’s perfor-
mances.
He is always the same—relaxed,
unassuming, soft-spoken—and dis-
plays a natural sense of quiet, re-
laxing humor.
Now he comes to AFRS, Kefla-
vik! The new AFRTS “(Perry
Como Show” begins this Satur-
day at 12:30 p.m.
Perry who began his show busi-
ness career as a singing barber,
says he will never again have a
barber shop. But he still shaves
with an old-fashioned straight
razor, which he has owned since
the 1930s. For haircuts, he visits
a barber shop near his New York
City office.
The New Jazzman
Dave Pell, guest star on this
weeks’ “Quarter Century of
Swing” series, typifies the New
Jazzman, a versatile musician and
man of many iterests.
Pell plays all of the woodwind
instruments, “legit” or jazz. The
kind of jazz that the Dave
Pell Octet plays is the definitive
rebuttal to those who argue that
modem jazz just doesn’t swing.
Here is a group that is modern
in its harmonies, in its time, in
