ROME WILL BE BOMBED IF ATHENS
AND CAIRO ARE RAIDED
LONDON. APRIL 18th.
This afternocm a statement was issued
from 10, Doiwttwng Street, stating that in
vdew of the Germaai threat to bomb ÍAt-
hens and Cairo the British Government have
fotind it neoessary to annouwœ that' if these
towttis are bombed, Rome will be syste-
matiioaily bombed by British aenoplanes until
thc war is over. Strict oare will oe taken,
not to bomb the VatiicaT) City and jrders
irave been given to that effect.
A warning is included in ihe statement
that it is knowm that the Italians íntend
to dnop .icaptured British bombs on the
Vatiican City, in case Rome is bombed,
pnetendmg that the British aimnen have
boimbed that oi'ty. It is thought necessary
to expose these plans Dn beforehand.

two more Y. M. C- A. padres íoreshadows
deveiopment in the Association’s service for
trcops in loeland.
Plans for icanteens “up-oountry“ have al-
ready been approved, and the arrival of
additi'Onal assistance wiill make ■ the esta-
blishment of at least two of these possihle
wii'thin a month or twio- One of them wid
be at a piaoe not far from Reykjavik where
there is a large body of tnoops, and 'the
other at an East-ooast port.
