French prisoners of war to be
released in return for — ?

From Vlchy, oomes report of another in-
stalment of ooncessiions gmanted by Germany
to the Vichy Government in retmrn for the
accepted collaboration with Germany. A
scheme of repatriailon of French prisoners
of war is being oonsidered amd the first
100.000 w'j'111 soon be released. The report
dces moit mentiion the price Vichy is paying-
for these ooncessiions.
The French Coimmander-in-Chief in Syria
has issued a statement in which he says
that the French forces in Syria ,wi'll resist
any forrn of aggression and that the aid
grven to German planes which had made
foroed landi'ngs in Syria had beem strictly
w.ithin the terms of the armistiqe.
General Catroux has told his oountrymen
in Syria thaf the Vichy Govemment was
handi'ng Syriia, lock stock and barrel, >ovrer
to the Germans. He said it was their plain
d'uty to rebel against the traitors at Vichy.

BOMBED

bombers operating over Germany was Kiel.
FUrther heavy diamage was inflicted on
the Important shipbuilding y-ards there and
numerous fires were left buming i-n the
dock ariea.
British planes also attacked the docks at
Emden and Cherbourg.
American ship sunk.

An American ship, oarrying ambulances,
nurses and doctors, has been sunk in the
South Atl-antic. About 60 America'ns are bo-
lieved to have beeti killed.
