Dayllght raid on Zeebrugge
‘Prinz Eugen‘ believed to be in Brest,
London, June llth.
IThe heavlly defended German naval base
Bt Zeebnugige was attacked today by Brltish
bomlbens. The bombems dived )through a
thick layer of clouds down into sunshine

fftom a low level. dtrect hit was scored
on a big ship in the cefntme of the harboui’
«nd another ship was seien sinking. The

GeTmians were unliucky enough ito bring'
dOwn one of their own fighters.
This attack wias the laitest in a series |ofl
raids on enemy shipping which had been
oarried out nonstop for twiemty-fiour hours.
Last night British bombers attacked the
docks at Brest where the German oruiser
Prinz Eugen is believed toi be sheltering.
A large number of bombs were droppe,
on the docks and anoborages.
During daylight homrs yesterday British
bombers continued their attacks on enemy
shipping. A German freighter was torpedoed
and sunk off the ooast of Norway and at-
tacks wiere made on Stavanger.. One British
bomber was persistently attacked by two
enemy fighters and after 20 minmtes runn-
ing fight one of the Nazis was shot dotwn
the other disappeaned.
Enemy air activity over Brit.a.in last night
was on a small scale. A fetw bombs were
dropped in Wales.

Over 450 eoemy aircraft have been de-
stroyed in all theatres of war during May,
stated Sir Archibald Sinclair. He said tbat
he was satisfiied that the aerpidromes in
Brftaiin could be adequately defended •
MONSIEUR VOILLERY, the French oon-
