London, Sept. 23rd.
There is more news of ruth-
less German repression in the
occupied countries. In Croatia
15 men were court-martialled
and shot by the Nazis. They
were accused of “intellectual
perturbance” in Zagreb.
In France four people have
been sentenced to death and to
prison from 12 years to life.
These men were accused of
Communist activity.
General von Falkhausen has
arrested 12 people in Brussels,
who will be shot if the assass-
ins of two Geriman soldilers,
-Who were shot 2 days ago, are
not found within two days. The
system of shooting hostages
will be applied in Belgium and
five Belgians shot for every
German murdered.
In Norway Rogaland has been
fined one million kronas for
demonstrations and the citiz-
ens of Aalesund have also been
made to pay heavy a fine and
hostages have been sent to
Germany. /

to the American Chamber of
Commerce here today, dispos-
ed of misconceptions regard-
ing freedom of worship in
Russia.

ed and every citizen has the

Boulogne Raided

Stir up Trouble

German sources are trying to
stir up more trouble between
Bulgaria and Russia. The Naz-
is claim that a new batch of
Russian parachutists has been
landed in Bulgaria. Previously
Moscow had exposed ' similar
reports from Germany.
Blackout has been ordered
in Bulgarian ports and a partial
curfew has been imposed in
Sofia.
Col. Knox Wants
Neutrality Act
Repealed
London, Sept. 23rd.
Colonel Knox, today gave it
as his opinion, when attending
the launching of the 35.000
ton U.S. batleship “Massachu-
setts”, that the Neutrality Act
should be repealed immedia-
tely. There should be no
handicap for those who strove
to keep the war from the shores
of America.
France Still Lives
The true spirit of France is
