Bomber Command oCcuipied by a
Canadian squadron.
That bomb now stands at the
entrance w> the offifCers' mess. It
has been made safe and painted

the winter session on Tuesday.
The school will again be held in

benefits will be immense-
I agree that IœlSnd is to a

Swedish Paper’s
View
TheSwedish newspaper “Afton-
bladet“ reports that foteign mili-
tary attaches in Berlin estimate
fhe German air troops at 200,000
riieri. Of these abouit one fifth ane
parachutists and the nemaining
160X)30 air-borne troops.
The average German glider can
car^ 10 fully equipped men, it is
stated, and a Ju. 52 transport
aircraft can oarry 25 men and
KXw tiwo gUders. Therefore 200
Ju,. 52’s oould transport an at-
tacking fotóe of 9,000 men.
‘ Alloiwance must naturally be
made for a fair number of casu-
alties in the case of day flights,
but these can be redu'oed oon-
siderably if the operation is car-
ried ou,t at night. Camouflage
has alsio reached a high level of
cffidenry.“
In the Swedish paper’s opinion
the topography of Britadn is such
that she hardly need fear an
invasiion from the air, “in spite
of the amazing sucoess of air-
borne troops in Crete.“

Film Notes
“TOO MANY HUSBANDS”
(NÝJA BÍÓ)
Cast: Jean Arthus, Melvyn
Douglas, Fred MacMurray.
Henry Davenport. Dorothy
Peterson. Melville Cooper. —
Columbia Picture. Director:
Wesley Ruggles.
Slick, sophistated comedy
telling of a husband’s return
after his supposed death to
find his wife married to his
best friend and business partn-
er.
Jean Arthur gves a polished
performance as the wife who
likes them both so well, that
she is unable to make up her
mind which to keep.
Fred MacMurray and Mel-
vyn Douglas are tops as the
jealous rivals, and Melville
Cooper is outstanding as a per-
fect butler.
Very good light entertain-
ment.
“HUCKLEBERRY FINN”
GAMLA BÍÓ)
Cast: Mikey Rooney, Walt-
er Connolly. William Fraw-
ley. Rex Ingram. Lynne Carv-
er. Joam Sayers.
Metro Goldwyn Mayer.
Director: Richard Thorpe.
Mark Twain’s immortal
classic is brought to the screen
with the ever popular Mickey
Rooney in the title role.
This cavalcade of boyhood
adventure is well directed and
the whole film is photographed
in sepia wfiich enhances the
beauty of the country settings.
The film is notable for its
simple, appealing human
touches, which are added with
a touch of brilliancy while the
comedy reaches hilarious
heights.

A new fashion thait has caught
on among he-men is the gaiter
without brass adornments to the
straps. This cult of the simple is
rapidly ousting the older, more
deoorative styLe.

A plan, organised by those
terrible twins the Baron von
Tiosh and Conte di Balognl, to
kidnap a oertain Big Shot and
promote General C- V. O. Hoggs-

has just been fmstrated. Hoggs-
body, luCkily, is still oontentedly
sticking flags ín his map, ignor-
ant of the fate he almost suf-

successful, the war wOuld now
be iover; while Hoggsbody stays
where he is, the empire is safe
though the A.T.S. may suffer.
