As it has done every solstice since 1995,
the Viking Village in Hafnarfjörður is
putting on its annual Viking Festival:
a wild celebration of Icelandic pa-
gan culture and heritage. Not to leave
any stone unturned, the wide array of
events includes Viking storytelling,
pagan ritual, dancing, music, games,
nightly feasting and, in the true spirit
of the Berserker, the intermittent brawl.
No time machine necessary, only a ten-
minute drive from downtown Reykjavík
to this meticulously authentic extrava-
ganza of yore.
