Club Traffic or any other establishment that
operates at that location has been placed off
limits for all U.S. military personnel until fur-
ther notice. The club located at Hafnargata 30
in Keflavik.
This action is in part to an incident that
occurred early Saturday morning, where a U.S.
service member was stabbed by another foreign
national just outside the club.
The status of the club will remain in effect
until rescinded or superseded by proper authori-
ties.
Hip Hop & Jazz Dance Classes
The base gym is holding dance classes for
children ages 8-11 & Ages 12-15.
Registration for the classes is scheduled for
Aug. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the
base gym.

Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Course
The American Red Cross is holding a
Babysitter’s Training course for individuals 11
years and older, on Aug. 26 and 27, from 9 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. each day. Attendance both days is
required for certification. Space is limited so
call 6255 today to sign up.
School Bus Transportation Office
All students at A.T. Mahan Schools are regis-
tered to ride a bus according to the home address.
If your child rides a bus to/from a location other
then home, the School Bus Office requires that
an Alternate Stop Form is filled out prior to your
child being placed on a different bus.
Additionally, if you have moved to a differ-
ent building since registering your child for the
05-06 School Year, you will need to fill out this
form. As a reminder, all children in grades SS-
2nd must be at the bus stop with an adult. They
may not be unattended at any time. Please stop
by the Elementary School for more information,
or call Gwen at 661-4890.
School Sports Physicals
A.T. Mahan school physicals are scheduled
for Aug. 25. Please call 3301 to schedule your
appt.
Please check in 30 minutes prior to your
scheduled appointment time.
Physicals are required for all 7th to 12th grade
students planning to participate in school spon-
sored sports.
A.T. Mahan High School New Student
Orientation
A.T. Mahan High school is hosting a new
student orientation Aug. 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the
school’s multi-purpose room.

First Day of School
A.T. Mahan High School announces that the
2005-2006 school year begins Aug. 29 at 8
a.m. All buses will be running as normal. For

School Supply List
According to the administration at A.T. Mahan
High School, the following supplies are required
of all students for the 2005-2006 school year:
Pens and pencils, erasers, colored pencils,
glue/glue sticks, paper-loose leaf, pocket fold-
ers, book bag, spiral notebooks, plastic sup-
ply box, notebook dividers, bound composition
book, highlighters, three ring binder, paints
(watercolors), colored markers, tissues (one
box), planners and gym shoes.
Additionally, all middle school students are
required to have a clip board and scissors and
all high school students are required to have
protractors, compass and rulers.
Three-on-three Basketball Tournev
The Iceland Defense Force MWR Committee
is sponsoring a three-on-three basketball tourna-
ment Aug. 20 at the base gym. To find out the

NASKEF Housing
The NAS Keflavik Housing Office is prepar-
ing to replace the carpet and furniture in all base
housing dayrooms. A schedule pinpointing the
deadline for removal of personal items will be
posted in each housing unit stairwell.
Walk with WIC
Keflavik’s Woman Infants and Children (WIC)
program is hosting a walking adventure program
for all base children and parents.
The program is scheduled to run from now
until Aug. 25. Walks will be held every Monday
Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m.
Healthy Snacks will be provided for all partici-
pants. All adults will receive free pedometers.
All community members interested in partici-
pating should contact 4129.
KYAA Needs You
Cheerleading coaches are needed for the 2005-
2006 sports year.

CREDO Retreat
The Chapel of Light would like to announce
the upcoming CREDO personal growth retreat
scheduled to take place Sept. 9 to 11 at a remote
location off base.
