MWR Facilities Undergo Summer Renovations
Working to keep the quality
of life and entertainment at
the best possible, several
MWR facilities have seen
or are scheduled to receive
upgrades and improve-
ments over this summer.
Three Flags will close
THREE FLAGS CLUB
Your ALL HANDS Dining Facility
from July 1 to August 22
while the interior is reno-
vated. New carpet, wall
coverings and decor are
among me improvements
to be completed.
Work on Arctic Bowl
will start July 9 and is
expected to take 5-6 weeks.
When the doors open back
up, residents will find new
bowling equipment, a new
scoring system and new
lanes.
Some facilities have
already started seeing their
improvements without hav-
ing to halt operations.
Coconut Alley has not
missed a beat while the
interior renovation has
gone on. The left side is
almost complete and the
work includes a new dance
floor and updated decor.
The party will now move to
the completed room and
work will start on the right
side.
Andrew's Theater is
currently receiving a new
exterior and will also see
the interior, lobby, and
snack bar area renovated.
The racquetball courts
at the gym are receiving a
new roof. Future improve-
ments are also scheduled
for the gym weight room
including an expansion and
new weight equipment.
The mdoor children's
playground has an estimat-
ed completion date some-
time in August. The cov-
ered playground at the
CDC is also almost com-
lete and the children will
ave year-around access to
the play area.
With these facility
improvements MWR hopes
to continue offering resi-
dents quality entertainment
and services.
CDC Offers Financial Incentives to New Caregivers
The Child Development
Center has announced it will
offer a recruitment bonus to
new childcare providers at
the facility.
The financial incentive
amount will be 10% of the
annual salary for each posi-
tion (amounts will start
around $1700.)
The money will be paid
up front in a lump sum with
the agreement that the new
employee will fulfill a 12
month employment commit-
ment. The bonus is available
for all childcare provider
GSE positions currently open
through MWR at the CDC
(does not apply to GS jobs
through HRO at this time.)
Tne incentive will only
be available to new appli-
cants who qualify for and are
offered childcare positions at
the CDC. For a list of current
job openings please see the
latest MWR job listing.
There are some restric-
tions that apply to the bonus
system. Complete informa-
tion is available at MWR per-
sonnel office.
Any questions should be
directed to the CDC Director
at 2737 or the Youth's
Division Director at 7508.
