Summer Fun Still Available in August
Summer in Iceland is
beautiful but brief. School
starts soon and the extended
sunny days will diminish.
The Tour Office is offering
three new tours this month
in addition to their regular
trips. Two of these are only
available once a year, so take
advantage of the final weeks
of good weather and experi-
ence the wonders of Iceland.

Hike the
incredible
interior
of Iceland
during
this chal-
lenging
four day
trek that
includes
colorful
geother-
mal areas, visiting ice caves,
green highland oasis, black
desert sands and concludes
in the interior oasis
Thorsmork. Good hiking
boots and appropriate cloth-
ing are required and partici-
pants need to bring their
own sleeping bags and food.
Tour includes transportation,
guide, and accommodations
in mountain huts.

Puffling Tour

Escape to the Westman
Islands to enjoy a late sum-
mer weekend in this wonder-
land of nature. The pufflings
are getting out of their nests
and learning to fly; this is an
event can be enjoyed only
during this time of year. The
tour includes transportation
to Heimaey, guide, two
nights hotel accommodations
with breakfast, and puffling
sightings both nights.

August 25-26
Enjoy two days of sightsee-
ing around the Sneefellsnes
Peninsula. The tour goes
around Whale Bay to the
town of Borgames en route
to Amarstapi by the roots of
the Snaefellsjokull glacier.
Take a snowmobile ride to
the top of Snaefellsjokull and
later tour Amarstapi. On
Sunday the tour will contin-
ue to sights around the tip of
the Snaefellsnes peninsula.
Price includes transportation,
guide, accommodations, din-
ner, breakfast and snowmo-
bile tour.
