NCS goes undefeated in 12-team tourney
NCS defeated Rockville, 8-7, in a
thriller that was decided in the bottom
of the seventh. NCS went undefeated in
the 12-team tourney, defeating NSGA,
57th and Rockville. They took Rockville
again enroute to the championship. They
counted a 3-0 lead in the third, but NCS
scored four in the fourth on a three-run
homer by Mike Adamczewski and hits by
Mick O'Dell, Randy Spillers and Bill
Spiehs.
Rockville scored two in the fifth to
lead 5-4, but NCS came back with two in
the bottom to retake the lead 6-5.
Going into the seventh, NCS led 7-5.
However, hits by Herb Sagaser, Pat Joy,
Pat McCarty and Ben Meredith tied the
score. A double by Brad Elter scored;
Mike Cousino was the clincher.
Leading hitters for■ Rockville were
Pat McCarty 3/4, Ben Meredith 4/4, while
for NCS it was Mick O'Dell 3/3 and Bill
Spiehs 2/3.
AIMD rolls
9621 to win
base-wide
bowling
The NSGA Sentinels defeated NCS 4-1
in the finals of the base championship
to climax an amazing season of 38 con-
secutive wins. They accomplished their
latest victory without the services of
ace pitcher, Gene Benson, however, Bob
Harris proved an able substitute. He
scattered six hits in his first attempt
as a pitcher.
David Stokes was the only batter from
NCS to get two hits while John Pozniak
and Lou had 2/3 for NSGA.
The Sentinels were really up for the
game as they played errorless defense
and came up with several great plays to
rob NCS of potential hits.
The AIMD tean won the base-wide roll-
offs Aug. 16, 17 and 18 with 9621 pins.
Second place went to the 57th FIS team
with a score of 9592.
The first and second place teams of
all men's intramural leagues had the
roll-off to determine the base champ-
ionship. They bowled 10 games and the
winner was the team with the most pins.
Going into the final round, Supply
was in first place, Admin in sec
AIMD was in the number three slot
had slipped into third after
most of the way in the roll-off. Fourth
place was held by 57th.
AIMD poured on the steam and took
first. The 57th FIS Team shot a game
of 1107 to climb to second place. One
team member, Clarence Allen, had a tenth
game score of 266. He shot 10 strikes
in a row and had the high game of the
roll-off.

Rockville and Supply
fight for league lead
In the intermediate league champion-
ship, Rockville was undefeated at press
time with Supply having to beat them
twice to claim the championship. Rock-
ville only needs one more win. Rock-
ville advanced to the finals, beating
Supply 3-2 and then NCS 8-7. Supply
beat NSGA 7-5 and NCS 4-1 after their
3-2 loss to the Rockville Rockets. The
