Sherri Hart's victory in the singles

The high game scratch special award
went to Carol Holmes with a 237.
At the end of the tournament, the
players were complimented for their good
sportmanship, friendliness and display
of goodwill by Marlene Hueber, tourna-
ment director and secretary of KWBA.
The A. T. Mahan Vikings lost its
berth early in the double elimination
tournament, suffering a second loss, 22-
0.
The loss was administered by VP-49,
who rode the passing arm of Wildey. The
5'10" 180-pounder led the way for the
"Flyers" with his passing, punting and
running.
The opening minutes of the game were
evenly matched and it looked like the
game might be a punting contest between
Wildey and Doug Fowler, each getting off
long punts with little return by the re-
ceivers.
Neither team could get an offense go-
ing as Doug Rautio tried long passes
without success and Wildey’s receivers
failed to hang on to his passes.
Finally, the break came as Wildey
found Bernadou with a sharply executed
pass that carried into Viking territory.
Then Wildey started to pass and, not
finding a receiver open, ran 13 yards
for a VP-49 score which they needed.
The Vikings could not get a drive
going until the closing minutes of the
game. The extra point was good when
Wildey fired a bullet to Krauer, making
the score 8-0.
Rautio had trouble hitting his re-
ceivers, who were covered or ran pat-
terns that were long, and Rautior.some-
times encountered difficulty in striking
the mark.
Several turnovers put the Flyers in
scoring position. A five-yard pass from
Wildey- to Bernadou accounted for the
second touchdown as the Flyers extended
their lead, 14-0.
At this point, Coach Avery put in his
reserves. They moyed the ball down to
the Flyers’ one-yard line, but the Fly-
ers held.
The final touchdown for the Flver^
came as Crosby ran for 57 yards with his
pass counting for the extra point.
