Crusaders down Billikens
AFRS to air Super Bowl
The Super Bowl game between Oak-
land Raiders and Minnesota Vikings
will be aired on American Forces Ra-
dio Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
in two cage events
The NATO Billikens, depleted by the
loss of VP 49 personnel and transfers,
dropped two games to the Njardvik Cru-
saders, 72-64 and 76-57. Both games
followed the same script, close for the
first half and most of the second, how-
ever each of the reserves allowed the
Crusaders to open with a slight edge.
Rick Mitchell and Walt Medina played
their best games of the year, scoring 18
each in the first game while only Jack
Redmond (14) led in the second.
The Crusaders had Einar Steini, 25,
and Talle Gunnar, 20, to lead them in
the first game while five men took the
lead in the second game.
The Crusaders have improved with
their new coach as the base team used to
count on a couple of aims whenever they
came to town.
The next game will be tomorrow with
the Grindavik Norsemen, playing 57
Fighter Interceptor Squadron at 3 p. m.
Player of the Week
Richard Mitchell of the Marine Bull-
dogs was chosen as player of the week
for his brilliant rebounding, play-mak-
ing and scoring in his team's games.
Mitch scored 19-16-14 in addition to
sweeping the boards and blocking six
shots. Mitch averages 13 points a game
for the Bulldogs and is instrumental in
their high place in the league stand-
ing.
Wrestling tourney slated
The 1977 wrestling tournament will be
scheduled Mar. 12-13.

however, individuals may enter by con-
tacting Dick Plante at 5191 or 4558.

defeating the Ridge Runners 60-58, Rock-
ets 65-37, Redmen 51-40, Moonmen 71-50,
and the Stompers 53-44. The Stompers
defeated the Eagles 56-39, lost to the
Redmen 48-37, defeated the Ridge Runners
50-48, Eagles 42-36, Redmen 44-43, and
the Moonmen 48-47 before the final.
Games were close and competition very
spirited and friendly. Price of admis-
sion will be raised next year because of
popularity of this year's tourney.
Members of the Hotdogs were: Jim
Harnett, Tom Walker, (who was selected
most valuable player), Brent Wells, Joe
Sellman, Jim Frazier, Bob Bailey, Fred
Dancy and Hafdis Austin. Members of the
Stompers were: Ken Siverance, Leo
Berry, Glenn Battenfield, Ron Hudson,
Milton Holmes, Rick Sutton, Bill Joy and
the secret weapon Ace Kidwell.
Hafdis Austin received MVP for the
women.
Hotdogs talte Stompers. 53-44
The Hotdogs came back from a 29-23
deficit to defeat the Stompers 53-44.
Hafdus Austin was the girl on the spot
as she sparked the HDs to their win,
Under the unique rules of the tourney,
girls' points count double, so Hafdus
broke the Stomper’s back with a six
point basket from long range and then
completed the day with six two-point
foul shots at a crucial time in the sec-
ond half with the score, 40-39. Leading
scorers were Tom Walker, 17, Fred Dancy,
14, and Austin, 12, for the HDs and
Milton Holmes 16, Glen Battenfield 11,
and Rick Sutton 19, for the Stompers.
