There are the "Wish Bones" who wish someone else would do all the work. There are the "Jaw Bones" who do all the talking but very little else. Here’s some advice on the subject from Chicago's Conti- nental Illinois Bank: First, never use a pencil, sign a blank check, leave space between words, erase, give anvone a blank check or sign a check for cash until you're ready to cash it. Always do the following: write as far to the left as possible, and draw a wavy line through all blank spaces, sign only when you've filled in all required information, destroy any check on which you made an error, re- cord each one you write, store can- celed checks in a seperate place from unused checks so a thief won't have samples of your signature and a sup- ply of forgeable checks.
