Class Cathie Wuerstl were named
the 932 ACWS military members of
the year for 1984.
Sergeant Goldschmidt, a nine-
teen year veteran of the Air
Force, is the Communications-
ElectronicMaintenance Supervisor
at Rockville. He was previously
assigned to the radar evaluation
squadron, Hill AFB, Utah. A
native of Dayton, Ohio, he and
his wife Bonnie have three
children.
As the Maintenance Supervisor
for the 932nd ACWS, SMSgt. Gold-
schmidt is responsible for the
quality assurance and upkeep of
not only the search and height
radar, but al so the squadron1 s ra-
dio, telephone and teletype com-
munications equipment.
Airman Cathie Wuerstl entered
the Air Force on March 21, 1983.
After Basic training, she attend-
ed Technical School at Keesler
AFB, Mississippi. Rockville is
her first permanent duty station.
She is an Aircraft Control and
Warning Systems Specialist re-
sponsible for height finder radar
repair. She is a native of Aurora,
Colorado.
Asa Height Finder Radar tech-
nician, A1C Cathie Wuerstl is re-
sponsible for the preventive and
corrective maintenance of the
height system as well as radar
simulators. She must also cali-
brate associated equipment and
maintain their records, logs and
forms.

Sergeant Sidney Duffer, a 14
year veteran of the Air Force,
is a Combat Crew Superintendant
and Senior Director Technician
at Rockville. He was previously
assigned to Detachment 5, 1st
Space Wing, Cavalier AFS, N.D.
A native of Milton, West Virginia,
he and his wife Isobel have two
children.
TSgt. Duffer's job involves
the coordination of vital control
information such as weather and
equipment status and mission data
for the successful operation of
the Master Direction Center. He
is also tasked with ensuring an
accurate and current air sur-
veillance display within the cen-
ter and monitoring the training
of Air Surveillance Operators.
LTC Walter D. Wieters, Com-
mander, 932 ACWS announced their
selection at a small ceremony in
their honor. He also announced
that the three winners would be
the squadron representatives at
competition for Air Forces Ice-
land and Iceland Defense Force
Military Member of the Year.
