VP-40 top intramural volleyball team
The NATO Base Intramural Volleyball competition
finished Saturday. In the Men's Division, VP-40,
playing southern-California style volleyball,
dominated the tournament in spite of game post-
ponements caused by a busy operational flying
schedule.
The COMFAIRKEF coed team rallied to come thru
the consolation bracket and win that division,
and the AFI team was declared the champion in the
Women's Division by virtue of their league record.
In the Men's Division championship match VP-40
had little trouble with 960th AWACS,winning 15-12
and 15-8. The competition in the Coed Division
final provided a better spectator sport as COM-
FAIRKEF took all three games to finally edge a
tenacious NSGA team.
Final standings: Coed Division - 1st, CFK;
2nd, NSGA; 3rd, NCS and 4th, EOD. Men's Division
-1st, VP-40; 2nd, 960th AWACS, 3rd, COMFAIRKEF;
and 4th, NCS, Women's Division - 1st, AFI and
2nd, NAVFAC.
