PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
(ALL WORKSHOPS ARE'FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC)
BUDGETING MADE EASY - (June 15, 7:00-8:00 p.m.) Budget is not a
four letter word! Learn some simple steps to help you set up a
budget you can live with.
FOOD GARNISHING - (June 2, 7:00-9:00 p.m.) If you love to enter-
tain, this workshop is for you! Learn to make radish roses, apple
birds and much more. Call for details.
GOING HOME - RE-ENTRY FOR ADULTS - (June 9 and 13, 7:00-8:30 p.m.)
This two-part workshop will help you prepare for the stresses that
occur when you PCS back to the States. Part I will cover the types
of problems that arise for everyone and ways to cope. Part II
deals primarily with issues pertaining to children. "How to Raise
a Street Smart Kid" will be shown.
GOING HOME - RE-ENTRY FOR KIDS - (June 1 and 2, 3:30-5:00 p.m.)
Returning to the States can be very stressful for kids as well as
adults. This two part series will help them make the transition
easier. For kids in grades 2 through 6.
"INDOC" TOUR TRAINING - (June 7, 7:00-8:30 p.m.) This workshop
will train volunteers who want to assist with the "Indoc" tour
this summer.
SINGLE PARENTS MEETING - (June 16, 12:00-1:00 p.m.) Being a
single parent is a challenging task. This group will help you
find realistic, effective and enjoyable ways of raising children.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS AGES 9-13 - (June 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m.)
Kids from 9-13 are sometimes difficult to entertain in the summer.
This workshop will help parents prepare for the "I'm bored's" this
summer.
YOUR CHECKBOOK AND YOU - A BALANCING ACT - (June 27, 7:00-8:00 p.m.)
Keeping your checking account balanced is extremely important for
military personnel. Let us show you how!

AKUREYRI - TOWN OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN - (June 14, 12:00-1:00 p.m.)
In late June and early July, Akureyri has midnight sun. Come and
learn about the tourist attractions available, such as flights that
take you to the top of the world.
ICELAND ON ■ A■LIMITED BUDGET - (June.28, 5:30-6:30 p.m.) You don't
have to spend a fortune to travel while you are in Iceland. This
special early evening workshop will tell you how to travel for less.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN ICELAND - (June 28, 12:00-1:00 p.m.)
Getting off base without a car is easier if you know how to use the
public transportation system. Schedules and prices will be given.
SUMMER TOURS - (June 7,- 12:00—1:00 p.m.) This summer the tour office
is offering many exciting tours. Come and see what Rec. Services
has planned and hear more about the Lodge, also!
WESTMAN ISLANDS - (June 21, 12:00-1:00 p.m.) The Westman Islands
are beautiful and fascinating. Come and learn more about the
attractions of the islands.

SEAP ORIENTATION - (Spouse Employment Assistant Program) - (June 2,
9:00-10:00 a.m. - June 14, 9:00-10:00 a.m. - June 23, 12:00-1:00 p.m.)
This orientation is an introduction to the employment system on the
NATO Base. Application information will be available from all
employment offices.
HOW TO BE A MOBILE SPOUSE - (June 8, 7:00-8:30 p.m.) Let our Spouse
Employment Coordinator show you how to choose a career path which
will fit in with the military relocation lifestyle.
HOW TO COUNSEL EMPLOYEES - (June 15, 9:00-11:00 a.m.) This month's
Employer Training will help you deal with disgruntled employees.
CAREER DECISIONS - (June 7 and 14, 2:30-3:30 p.m.) This continuation
of our three part series will help you determine what is the best
career field for you to be in, how to make career moves and taking
charge of your professional future.
FEDERAL EMPLOYEES WORKSHOP - (June 22, 6:30-8:30 p.m.) If you are
a Federal employee and plan to transfer to the States, this
workshop will tell you how.
TYPING - (Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning June 7, 7:00-8:30 p.m.)
Improve your typing speed and accuracy. Your typing speed will be
certified at the end of the course. You must have basic keyboard
knowledge. Registration and 525 fee is required.
LIFE SKILLS FOR TEENS - This three part series will help 11th and
12th graders prepare for leaving home. It will include:

Interviewing for my First Job - (June 16, 3:00-5:00 p.m.)
Career Decisions for Teens - (June 23, 3:00-5:00 p.m.)
