Aviation Officer Continuation Pay (AOCP)
Eligibility requirements for Aviation Officer
Continuation Pay (AOCP) have been revised and will
include all YG-78 and junior prop pilots with DJ3 and
DJ4 Additional Qualification Designators (AQD).
Basic AOCP program eligibility requirements
established and new eligibility requirements are
summarized below:
□ Six through 10 years total active duty service.
□ Minimum six years aviation service.
□ Completed minimum obligated service.
□ Did not participate in previous AOCP programs.
□ Pilot or NFO designators
□ Additional qualification designator (AQD) in one
of the following aviation communities: VF (pilot
only); VA; VAM; VAQ; VAW; VS (pilot only); VQ; all
helos; VRC (C-2/US-3).
□ New eligibility requirements: YG-78 and junior
prop pilots with AQD's of DJ3 and DJ4 are eligible for
the fiscal ‘89 AOCP program.
Eligibility criteria for the fiscal '89 AOCP program
remain in effect until Dec. 31, 1988. Contact your
command career counselor for more information.
^Mpriiral Enlisted Commissioning
■The Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program
tMECP) is a continuing education program which
provides an excellent opportunity for outstanding
career motivated corpsman and dental technicians to
earn a college degree and a commission in the Navy
Nurse Corps.
The new instruction guidelines for MECP affords
applicants maximum time to prepare for the next
MECP selection board.
New eligibility requirements are as follows:
□ Corpsman or dental technicians in the regular
Navy or Navy Reserve on active duty (including TAR
program) with at least three years active service as
of Sept. 30 in the year of application.
□ U.S. citizen.
□ High school graduate or GED equivalent. Have 30
semester or 45 quarter transferable college-level
credit hours acceptable for enrollment in a
baccalaureate degree program in nursing. Have
maintained a cumulative college grade point average
of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
□ Accepted to a baccalaureate program leading to
a BS degree in nursing accredited by the National
League for Nursing.
□ Able to complete the degree within 36 con-
secutive months and be commissioned before
reaching 35th birthday.
□ No history of conviction by court-martial or
civil court for other than minor traffic violations.
Have no record of non-judicial punishment during the
previous four years. A DUI or DWI violation is
considered a major traffic violation and is
disqualifying. Any felony conviction or record of
substance abuse also is disqualifying.
□ Meet physical standards for officer candidates
and Navy physical fitness and body fat percentage
standards.
□ Favorable endorsement from commanding offi-
cer.
□ Under the new directive, waivers of eligibility
requirements, other than for minor physical
defects, will not be granted and none should be
requested.
The next selection board is scheduled for Mar. 20,
1989. Applications for this board shall be completed
and forwarded via commanding officer in time to
reach COMNAVMILPERCOM (NMPC-211) by Dec. 1,
1988. The nursing school letter of acceptance must
reach NMPC-211 by Feb. 1, 1989.
