The Keflavfk Chief Petty Officers'
Association will hold elections of new
officers at their monthly meeting next
Friday at 3 p.m. at the Fleet Reserve. All
nominations are due to YNC Hall NLT

The Keflavfk Chief Petty Officers'
Auxilary will hold a hail and bless and elec-
tion of officers Monday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m.
at the Officers' Club. The election will be
held at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. Cost
of the steak dinner, which includes drinks is
$10 for paid-members and $20 for non-paid
members. Offices are held for six months.
All spouses of chief ranked service person-

The A.T. Mahan Elementary and High
School will dismiss early today. Grades 4-6
at 11:15 a.m., 1-3 at 11:30 a.m., and the
high school at 11 a.m. Parents of students in
grades 1 and 2 are reminded that they are
required to be at the bus stop at 11:40 a.m.

Studded snow tires can not be installed on
any vehicle until Nov. 1 and must be
removed no later than April 15, 1991,
according to Icelandic law.
The Safety Office is issuing reflectors
Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5
p.m. One reflector per person is authorized.

Prenatal exercise classes are held every
Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:30
p.m. in the base gym. All new and expectant
mothers are invited. The classes are free of

Family Service Center
Co-sponsored by Air Force Social Actions
& CAAC, the FSC is holding a smoking
cessation class. The four-part series will be-
gin Tuesday and Thursday and continue on
Nov. 6 and 8 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
at the Family Service Center. All four
sessions are open to anyone with a desire to
give up any form of tobacco. Session one -
Understanding how & why you smoke,
session two - Managing the first few days,
session three - Mastering obsticles, session
four - Enjoying it forever. This is based on
the “Fresh Start” program of the American
Cancer Society. Everyone is encouraged to

Spouse Employment Assistance Program
(SEAP) The Spouse Employment Coordi-
nator will inform you of the various base
employment locations, how to fill out their
applications, and the current job climate. It
takes place every Thursday from 9 a.m. to
10 a.m.
Icelandic Ghost Stories. Did you know
that the Keflavik area has its own authentic
ghost? This “Ghost of Stapi” can be
troublesome to drivers who stop for hitch-
hikers! Join us at the FSC Wednesday,
from noon until 1 p.m., to leant more about
Icelandic tales of the supernatural.
How to talk so kids will listen and listen
so kids will talk. Leam new ways to com-
municate with your children by producing
positive feedback. This six-pan structured
workshop will use illustrated workbooks
and homework assignments. The program
presenter will help you practice new skills,
to leam new patterns and unlearn old ones.
To achieve a better understanding of parent/
child communication, join the FSC for part
one, Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This
workshop will continue for five more
consecutive Tuesdays.
ACDF (Adult Children of Dysfunctional
Families) reminder: Thursday meetings,
Group I: 5:30 to 7 p.m., Group II: 7 p.m. to
9 p.m. These are closed group meetings.

College Notes
University of Maryland students desiring
to sell used text books to other students are

required to take a placement test in order to
