Lbrate Arbor Day tomorrow at the Commis-
ark beginning at 10 a.m. If you plan to help
wear work clothes and bring a shovel.
The BEQ Advisory Committee will meet
Wednesday at 9 a.m., in the Bldg. 761 training

The NATO Golf Qualification Tournament
will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m., at the Keflavik
Golf Course. For more information call the base

A bicycle safety inspection will be held June 20
at the Community Center from 10 a.m. to noon
and at the elementary school from 1 to 2 p.m.
The KCPOA is sponsoring a flea market June
20 at the Community Center. Tables are $5. To

The Chapel of Light SUN group will be going

Vacation Bible School will be held June 22-26
at the A.T. Mahan Elementary School for chil-
dren in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Call the

The American Red Cross S.T.A.R. program
provides NATO Base youth, ages 12 to 18, with
volunteer job opportunitites during the summer
months. Over 40 positions are available. For
more information stop by the Red Cross Office
between 8 a.m. and noon or between 1 p.m. and

Lynch to become NSGA Keflavik’s 12th CO

LCDR Raymond R. Lynch will relieve CDR

February 1965 when he enlisted in the Navy, at-
tended boot camp at Great
Lakes and went on to
Cryptologic Technician
(Operator) (CTO) “A”
school in Pensacola, Fla.
He served in Maryland,
Vietnam, Scotland, Flor-
ida, Guam and Hawaii
achieving the rank of
CTOC.
He earned an Associ-
ate and Bachelor Degree
in Business Administra-
tion from Hawaii Pacific
College and earned his
Masters Degree in Busi-
ness Administration from
the CHAMINADE Uni-
versity of Honolulu. In
1979 he was commis-
sioned as a CW02 and
subsequently promoted to
LTJG as and LEX) in
1983.
Some of his tours have included assignments
to Commander Naval Security Group as Branch
Head of Telecommunications Current Opera-
tions where he was directly responsible for the
daily operations of 24 Naval Security Group
communications centers. As the first Electronic
Material Officer of Naval Security Group De-
partment, Nav al Computer and Telecommunica-
tions System Command, Diego Garcia, he was
responsible for all electronic maintenance and
future facility development projects. Assigned
to the CNO staff as Assistant DNI for Special In-
telligence Communications matters, he devel-
oped policy forNavy SI communications as well
as future planning. Highlighting his tour at CNO
was his development of a communications plan
which linked the Space
Shuttle with selected
military ground sites.
LCDR Lynch and
his wife Laurie have
two sons and one
daughter. All three
children attend college
and reside in Fort
Worth, Texas.

ing to Washington,
D.C., where he will be
assigned to Com-
mander, Naval Security
Group Headquarters as
Director for Cryptol-
ogic Requirements,
Programs and Budget.
