“Winter
greet visitors at
Festival of Trees
The annual Festival of Trees will
be held Saturday, Dec. 3 from
noon - 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4
from noon - 4 p.m. at the A.T.
Mahan Elementary School Multi-
purpose Room.
The theme for the event is
“Winter Wonderland.”
Singing groups from the base
and the music school in Kelfavik
will be providing entertainment.
The festival features displays of
Christmas trees decorated and/or
constructed by base commands and
organizations. Visitors to the festi-
val will vote on the trees in follow-
ing categories: children’s favorite,
people’s choice, closest to theme
and most creative.
More than a dozen commands
have entered the contest. Awards
will be presented at the end of the
festival.
There is no entrance fee, but
donations will be accepted at the
door. These donations will be used
for base charities.
