Several other persons such as the farmers supplying livestock, staff
of the Agricultural Associatión of Iceland and the Soil Conservation service,
as well as from the other participating organizations, contributed in their
special capacities.
PROGRAM OF WORK:
The livestock was weighed every third to fourth week. The weighing
was done at a similar time of day during each weighing but due to circum-
stances it was not possible to get the empty body weight. At most of the
experiments the livestock was drenched (Panacur) at every weighing except
at Hestúr where t"he sheep was only drenched twice during the summer and the
same was due for the horses in Kalfholt. If the lambs had diarrhoea they
were treated with sulfaquanidine.
Fecal samples were collected in most of the experiments for diet sel-
ection estimation. Rumman fluid samples were collected from lambs in the
autumn grazing experiment at Hestur. At slaughtering the weight of several
internal organs was recorded and samples collected from the lambs at Hestur
in addition to recording the carcass weight. In addition carcass measure-
