runs through the most westerly section of the experiment and along
the brook the land is rather moist, expecially pasture 111. The
vegetation type is a moss heat with low-growing shrubs and grasses.
Grasses have reached dominance in the fertilized pastures.
Vegetation: The dominating species of vegetation at the beginning of the
experiment are shown below. Otherwise the 1976 Progress Report can
be referred to (Fjölrit RALA nr. 29).

Procedure: The experiment started 20. July and was continued until 12.
Sept. There were 142 ewes in the experiment, 86 had twins and 56
single lambs. The same number of lambs were of each sex.
Experimental animals: The sheep were from the farm Holt in Svinavatnshreppur.
