Bibliotheca Arnamagnæana - 01.06.1968, Page 44
ICELANDIC
a = National Museum, Reykjavlk, Nos. 3411, 30 and 716
(Facs. 169-174)
Three leaves, probably all from the same book, which contained se-
quences embedded in liturgy. Scribe: Jon Porlaksson (se below pp.
XLV ff.). The leaves have been used for bookbinding and are trimmed,
but in No. 30 all the text-area, c. 28 by 19 cm, is preserved. No. 3411
is especially valuable because it contains, with music, the liturgical items
to be sung before the great Olavus-sequence “Lux illuxit letabunda”,
beginning with the introitus “Gaudeamus omnes in domino” (still more
valuable in this respect is the MS g, which has the music of an item
only indicated by words in a). Within the initial G of Gaudeamus
there is a coloured picture of the saint.
b = National Library of Iceland, Lbs. fragnt. No. 46
(Fac. 175)
One trimmed leaf; the height of the text-area on the page which is
rendered in facsimile was at least c. 31,5 cm (but on the other page
c. 29). This does not agree with a, but the handwriting is the same.
c = National Museum, Reykjavlk, No. 5557
(Facs. 176-177)
One leaf from a bookbinding, trimmed and demaged. Width of text-
area 11 cm.
d = National Museum, Reykjavlk, No. 141
(Facs. 178-181)
The bottom part of two conjoint but not consecutive leaves. Width of
text-area c. 8,5 cm.
e = National Museum, Reykjavlk, No. 7336
(Facs. 182-183)
One damaged leaf from a bookbinding (another leaf from the same
codex is rendered as facs. 328-329). Text-area c. 20 by 14 cm. There
are 11 text-lines to a page with music.
