4. AM 640, 4to, a manuscript that was written in the 15th century
and belonged to the church of Ærlækur in northern Iceland, has on
ff. 55-66 an officium of St. Nicolaus (with music). The following items
are included:
F. 55r. “Christe tui famuli nobis festum Nicholai”. Printed in AH 28,
Nr. 29b, and in Bjarni Pors teinsson, fslenzk PjoSlog, p. 133.
F. 55r—v. “Magne pater Nicholae”. Printed in AH 12, No. 386.
F. 57r. “Auro virginum intestus”. Cf. Chevalier III, p. 55.
F. 59v. “Copiose caritatis, Nicholae pontifex”. Printed in AH 28,
No. 29b.
F. 60r. “Iste confessor domini sacratus”. Printed in AH 2, No. 101,
and 51, No. 118.
Ff. 64r-65r. “Congaudentes exultemus”, cf. p. 131.
5. Add. 1, 4to (Royal Library, Copenhagen) is a “Compendium
Arithmeticum” written in 1723 by P6rSur Magnusson, a nephew of Årni
Magnusson; he came to Copenhagen in 1721 and died there some years
later (fslenzk rit si'Sari alda, 2. flokkur, 2. bindi B, pp. 25-27). As a
cover were used two vellum. leaves from a liturgical book with texts
and music. One leaf contains all the sequence “Nato canunt omnia”, cf.
p. 13. The other has the latter part of “Alleluia, Caelica resonant”,
printed in AH 53, No. 19; the first words are 4a (6) “intacta virgo et
puerpera”. PorSur Magnusson no doubt got the leaves from his uncle,
since other leaves from the same book are in Acc. 7b; one of them is
rendered here as facs. 340-341.
6. AM 720a I, 4to, is the bottom part of a vellum leaf. On the recto
there are five lines (vv. 7b-9b) from the sequence “Lauda Syon sal-
vatorem”, cf. p. 121, with music. On the verso only the very end of the
same sequence is preserved.
7. In AM 325 V, 4to, f. 94r, the text of “Gaude pia Magdalena” is
added on a page which originally was blank; it is printed in Den store
saga om Olav den hellige, Oslo 1941, p. 925. Cf. AH 9, No. 290.
8. Acc. 7aa, f. 20r, is rendered as fac. 225. It has been overlooked
that the next page, f. 20v, contains words and music of the sequence
“Voce iubilantes magna”, cf. p. 116.
