and 267). According to this, four sequences with music are included in
the Icelandic Graduale, printed at Holar in 1594 (also found in MSS,
as Add. 17, 4to, in the Royal Library, Copenhagen, Sloane 503 in Bri-

16. The MS Rask 98 in the Arnamagnæan Collection contains a series
of Icelandic hymns and songs with music, written in the 17th century.
The songs Nos. 191-199, which are in Latin, are printed, with the
exception of No. 194, in Bjarni Porsteinsson, fslenzk PjoSlog, pp. 301—
303. No. 194 with the heading “Seqventia” is “Fulgens præclara”, see
p. 68. No. 202, printed by Bjarni Porsteinsson pp. 309—311, is “Victimæ
paschali laudes” (with the music written out for two voices), see p. 63.
No. 226 has the heading “Su fagra seqventia, In sapientia disponens
omnia”, cf. p. 52; it is only given in Icelandic translation with music.
17. AM. 148, 8vo, a collection of Icelandic poems by different authors,
was written in the 1670’s, partly by Magnus Jonsson of Vigur (in the
Western Fiords), partly by his scribes. A facsimile edition exists: KvæSa-
bok ur Vigur, AM 148, 8 vo (fslenzk rit si'Sari alda, 2. flokkur. Ljos-
prentanir, 1. bindi), Copenhagen 1955. The text of five Latin se-
quences is included on ff. 312-316:
“Laudes crucis attollamus”, see p. 255.
“Lauda Syon salvatorem”, see p. 121.
“Verbum bonum atque suave”, see p. 161.
“Hodierna (sic) lux diei”, see p. 172.
