O ALMA TRINITAS - HODIERNE LUX DIEI SACRAMENTI - LAUDA SYON SALVATOREM
Panem hunc quo vivit mundus
quem si sumas culpa mundus
mentem intus reficit.
Ad credendum quod non vides
te confirmet vera fides
nam hec sola sufficit.
Salve panis immortalis
cibus dulcis his quos alis
salutaris hostia.
Qui das escam te timenti
potum verum sitienti
nos hoc cibo socia.
Amen.
The metre and the number of verses are alike in the two sequences.
The sequence De s. Thoma Cantuariensi “Spe mercedis et corone”
(pp. 40 ff.) uses not only the same metre and number of verses, but
also the same melody as the Maria-sequence “Hodierne lux diei
celebris” (a melody whose main traits we shall meet in the sequence
“Predicasti”), so that we may assume that our sequence De Corpore
Christi was intended to be sung with that same melody.
