DE BEATA MARIA V.
vi- o- la- - - ta per- man- si- - sti.
Peter Wagner, in his “Neumenkunde” (Einfuhrung in die gregoria-
nischen Melodien, II, 1905), p. 83, prints the melody, lying a fifth
higher, from a Parisian MS. The divergences from our form are unim-
portant.
As for the text, see, in addition to the above-mentioned Manuale,
Kehrein, Lateinische Sequenzen, No. 283, where 4 editions are indi-
cated as sources. There are some differences from his main text
in our MSS.: (in R:) 1 integra] intacta; — (in T:) 2b pia laudis]
nostra laudem, 4a Tua] Tu das, 4a dulcisona] dulcissima, 4b concedas
veniam per secula] perpetua frui vita (a form which corresponds in
rhythm to 4a), 5 O regina, O Maria] O benigna, O benigna. In
Manuale 3a and 3b are transposed, but Kehrein has the same order
as T.
