Diatomite is a gift of nature . . . composed of
millions of tiny jewel-like shells of marine dia-
toms. Its excellent performance as a filtering
agent is most valuable to the dry cleaning,
beer and wine, sugar syrup, pectin and chem-
icals industries.
Johns-Manville and the Icelandic govern-
ment have joined to operate a diatomite mine
and filter aid plant at Lake Myvatn to serve
major industries throughout Europe.

for its diatomaceous silica products.
The filter aid product, under the trade name
of Hyflo Super-Cel, * is widely used in the United
Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and France.
