Habitat: By water-fall, on rocks. Localities: Múlakot, 5.VII.1937, fr., phot. S. Geogr. Distr.: T. crasþedotum is found in Sweden. 20. Taraxacum gladiatum M.P.Chr. n. sp. Folia sat obscure viridia, parce araneosa, oblanceolata— sat anguste lanceolata, 2—4-loba, interlobiis latis, + denticulatis, lobis approximatis, deltoideis, basin versus latis, patentibus, acutis—acuminatis, parce dentatis, lobo terminali longo, sagittato—hastato, acuto, integro vel uni-dentato, lobulis basalibus acuminatis, petiolis pallidis, nervo mediano pallido. Scapi folia aequantes, pallidi. Squamae exteriores adpressae—erecto-patentes, late ovatae—-lanceolatae, subtus laete olivaceo-virides, albo-marginatae, interiores apice -T purpureo. Calathium c. 3.5 mm latum, laete luteum, densum. Ligulae marginales breves, subtus stria laete cana notatae. Antherae polline carentes. Stigmata laete virescentia. Achenium stramineum (162), c. 4 mm longum, c. 1 mm latum, superne tenuiter spinulosum, ceterum laeve, in pyramidem latam, 0.5 mm longam, conicam abiens. Rostrum 7—8 mm longum. T. gladiatum is very slender, has small, densely flowered, light-yellow heads with female flowers and the terminal lobe of the leaves long, acute. It seems to be closely related to T. divaricatum. This species, however, is rather sturdy and has dark-yellow heads. T. gladiatum is no doubt spontaneous. Habitat: Grassy mountain slopes. Localities: Laugar at Breiðamýri, 27.VII.1937, fr., phot. N. Geogr. Distr.: Only found in Iceland. 21. Taraxacum declive M.P.Chr. n. sp. Spec. orig.: Iceland, ísafjörður, 12.VII.1935, leg. M. P. Christiansen. Plate II, fig. 21. Plate XV, fig 129. Planta 20—30 cm alta. Folia griseo-viridia—obscure viridia, subaraneosa, anguste lanceolata—lanceolata, 3—5-loba, petiolis late alatis, pallidis, nervo mediano brun- nescenti, lobis perapproximatis, anguste deltoideis, sensim acuminatis, reflexis, raro reflexo-patentibus, integris—parce dentatis, interlobiis latis, brevibus, lobo terminali longe sagittato, breviter acuto, margine parce convexo, supra lobulos basales + den- tato; folia interiora lobulata et valde dentata. Scapi + brunnescentes, parce araneosi. Involucrum obscure viride. Squamae exteriores adpressae—erecto-patentes, 2—3 mm latae, ovato-lanceolatae —lanceolatae, obscure virides, + albido-marginatae, interiores obscure virides. Achenium laete stramineum (c. 162), 3.8—4.0 mm longum, 1.2—1.4 mm latum, leviter fusiforme, superne crebre, erecto-patentem spinulosum vel squamulosum, in pyramidem late conicam, 0.5—0.6 mm longam, basi saepe spinulosam sensim abiens. Rostrum 7—8 mm longum.
