Geogr. Distr.: Only found in Iceland.

Plantae mediocres—magnae. Folia integra—profunde lobata, lutescenti-viridia,
griseo- vel obscuro-viridia, glabra—parce araneosa; petioli lati—angusti, vulgo pur-
purei. Squamae involucri exteriores longae, patentes—reflexae, laeves. Calathium
parvum—magnum, densum—radians, laete—obscure luteum ; ligulae marginales
subtus stria cana—cano-purpurea notatae. Antherae vulgo polliniferae. Achenia saepe
4—5 mm longa (pyramide inclusa), saepe grisea—griseo-brunnea, superne remote—
dense, saepe valde et longe spinulosum; pyramide conica—cylindrica. Rostrum
9—12 mm longum.

bb. Fruit straw-coloured—brownish.
aa. Petioles rose—purple-coloured.
b. Leaves entire—shallow-lobed.
Leaves many-lobed.
