has collected some plants near Hvítárvatn, a list of which was published
by Max Onno in 1931.
In 1937 the present author published a flora list from Landmanna-
afrjettur (see the list of literature) and a brief survey of the most im-
portant formations found there.

Of a quite different nature from these floristic works are two papers
both of a rather recent date. One is L a m p r e c h t’s description of
the vegetation of part of Ódáðahraun and Dyngjufjöll based on ob-
servations made on a journey in 1927. In this paper an account is given
of the most important ecological factors, a well as a description of
vegetation types corresponding to the vegetation of sandy and gravelly
