This pool complex has a 25 x 12.5-meter swimming pool, a children’s splash pool, two
hot tubs, a Jacuzzi and steam bath. An indoor pool is also on the premises.
A cozy swimming pool at Kjalarnes, which lies by the road to West Iceland,
offers a panoramic view of the capital from across Faxaflói bay. Close by,
there are great sea bathing facilities.
Akranes has good facilities for swimming at the town’s sports center Jaðarsbakkar, includ-
ing a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, a water slide, five hot tubs and a steam bath. The
warm and relaxing water comes from Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver.

Built in 1928, Hreppslaug is among Iceland’s oldest pools still in use. Warm water from
adjacent hot springs leads directly into the hot tubs. This charming countryside pool is a
good place to relax and enjoy a panoramic view over Andakílsá River.
This pool complex has a 25 x 12.5-meter pool, three waterslides, a children’s pool, a hot tub,
Jacuzzi, a wave pool with inbuilt water massage, a steam bath directly from Deildartunguh-
ver hot spring, sauna and great sunbathing facilities as well as a 12.5 x 8-meter indoor pool.
