Pl. VII a. The column. Three segments are seen, connected by ball joints. The „fish“
occupy the face in the upper right corner. Dark rock to the ieft affects half „fish“
just above the hammer. Hammer is 54 cm.
Pl. VII b. Composite xenolith in the quarry. The hammer (54 cm) sits on the non-
porphyritic portion, the other half being porphyritic. The porphyritic part is rami-
fied by „veins“, which are cut short by the edges of the xenolith. The body is sur-
rounded by light-coloured, highly porphyritic rock. Note non-porphyritic band in the
lower left corner.
