Vol. 60 #3 THE ICELANDIC CANADIAN 121 In Autumn - yellow leaves on enduring birch droop to their fall stealthily stealing away the tree's fading shade. Kids embrace, rains to face. Ravens in night attire encircle the deepening coolness and usher in the rapid river's freezeup. Huddling parkas scurry the streets and the snow flies... Tiny flurries of tatting lace crouch together silently covering the earth with a glistening mantle. Kids delight, raw winds bite. Ghosts of cold hover about the gripping chill as dancing lights sweep their awesome flight beyond. The setting sun darkens the streets then suddenly disappears in flames on the horizon in Winter.
