MAÍ 1982 Icelandic Festival Art Show 1982 The Icelandic Festival Committee invites artists of Icelandic descent to participate in the 14th Annual Art Show on August lst and 2nd, 1982. Awards will be made by purchas- ing outstanding works from various art forms, paintings, pottery, ceramics and sculpture, etc. Thanks to Investors Syndicate Limited for their contribution to help make these awards possible. Requirements: 1. Artists must be of Icelandic de- cent. 2. All work submitted must be the original and unaided work of the artist, not previously exhibited at Islendingadagurinn. 3. Participants may submit three works. 4. All works must be delivered to Tergesen's General Store, Gimli, Manitoba before or on July 30, 1982 at 4:00 p.m. 5. A label with name, address, title must be attached to the back of each work. . 6. Paintings must be suitably framed, ready for hanging, with wire kept back one inch from top of frame. 7. All work must be removed after the show on August 2nd, 1982 (6:00 p.m.) 8. This entry form must be filled in and returned to the following ad- dress, not later than July 16th, 1982. EMILIA PALMASON STUDENT AID FUND Two awards of $500.00 each to be given in 1982. The receipients must be of good moral character, Icelandic descent, college calibre and primarily in need of help to continue their studies in high school, col- lege or at University level. They are asked to sign a pledge that "some- where along the highway of life” they will try to provide comparable help to another needy student. Closing date for applications June 30th. THORVALDSON SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $500.00 to be awarded in 1982. This annual scholarship will be awarded to a student in University or proceeding into a University in Canada or the United States. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and high scholastic ability. Closing date for applications Sept. 15. EINAR PALL & INGIBJORG JONSSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP One scholarshiþ of $500.00 to be awarded in 1982. Awarded to be determined by academic standing and leadership qualities. To be of- fered to a High School graduate proceeding to a Canadian University or the University of Iceland. Closing date for applications Sept. 15. THE CANADIAN ICELAND FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $500.00 to be awarded in 1982. Award to be deter- mined by academic standing and leadership qualities. To be offered to a University student studying towards a degree in any Canadian University. Closing date for applications Sept. 15. Students wishing to apply are asked to submit applications with sup- porting documents indicating which scholarship they wish to apply for.
