for sale
A lady in Iceland has contacted the
paper and offers an Icelandic
costume for sale. This costume is one
of the older designs and has all the
golden decorations. The size is 42-44
and the price is $3,000.00 U.S. but
the lady says she is willing to
negotiate. This is a picture of the
costume.

The future of Lögberg-
Heimskringla is discussed in today's
editorial. It is a fact that the future of
the only Icelandic weekly in North
America rests on the shoulders of
younger generations which have yet
to show interest in their paper and
Icelandic organizations on this
continent.
The reader survey last year in-
dicates that. Or how can one explain
the results otherwise? The average
age of participants was over 60 years.
Those who did answer the question-
naire generally were pleased with the
present format, although some
changes were suggested. Can it be
then, that the content of the paper is
of no interest to younger people? If
so, changed have to be made.
In 1986, one hundred years will
have passed since Heimskringla was
first published in Winnipeg. At that
time, L.-H. should have doubled its
readership. Show your neighbour,
your son or your daughter the paper.
Urge them to subscribe.

gluggum, dyrum og útipöllum.
• Þegar mikið ber á moskítum
er rétt að vera í síðbuxum,
langermaskyrtum svo að bert
hold finnist sem minnst. Ljós
fatnaður hentar betur en
dökkur.
• Forðist hvað mest að dvelja
utandyra við sólsetur en þá
þyrstir flugurnar hvað mest í
blóð.
• Pollar eða tjarnir á
einkalóðum ætti umsvifalaust að
þurrka upp, - tunnur ónýtir
hjólbarðar og hvað annað er
fyllst getur af vatni ætti að
henda. Við slíkar aðstæður
æxlast moskítur hvað best.
