My name is Rhyl Donnelly
and I am 8 years old. I am
in Grade 3 at Lord
Wolseley School in Winnipeg. My
teacher’s name is Mr. Ed Hammond
and my principal’s name is Mrs. Karen
Botting. She is also Icelandic.
My mom and dad’s names are
Elaine and Kurt, and my brothers’
names are Sean and Kyle. My brothers
went to Icelandic Camp for almost 5
years'and I went to Sunrise Camp for 2
years. I really like camp and meeting
new friends. I have a cat named
“Sptrnky” and he is special. I am tak-
ing swimming lessons now so I can
keep up to my older brothers.
I really like to build things with Lego and
sometimes I take up the whole room with my
buildings, roads, etc.
I have a very “special” Amma who lives in
Selkirk. Her name is Runa Magnusson. She
belongs to the Icelandic National League and I
love her veiy much.
I have chosen to draw a picture of Pottasleikir
(Pot-Licker). He is like me because I like to lick
pots, and bowls too, especially at Christmas whfen
my mom does lots of baking.
My Amma tells me the stories about all the
