Lindsay Arlene
Ustash is the
daughter of Dennis
and Lois Ustash of
Shoal Lake and
granddaughter of
George and Helga
Gerrard of
Strathclair. Her
great grandparents
were the late Stefan
& KriStin Soffia (Thorarinson) Olafson of Riverton. She partici-
pates in many sports and 4-H and belongs to the Strathclair
Drama Club and Virden Youth Choir. She is learning Ukrainian
dancing and all about her Icelandic heritage. She has attended
several Icelandic celebrations and has visited many relatives in the
Riverton, Hnausa and Gimli areas. Last celebration she and her
two brothers, Kristofer and Mark, enjoyed the fireworks, walking
on the piers and sat with over 20 cousins to watch the parade.
She enjoyed the afternoon program.
Her uncle is Nelson Gerrard.

I am in grade 4 at Robert
H. Smith School in
Winnipeg. My parents, Bill
and Kristine Perlmutter, are
active in the Icelandic com-
munity in Winnipeg, as is
my amma Borga Jakobson.
Three of my grandparents
were of Icelandic descent.
I am interested in writing
and music and I am a Girl
Guide. I am corresponding
with a cousin in Iceland
and I would like to travel
there someday.
