The Folk museum at Gardar in Akranes
has an outstanding collection of objects
from the past way of life in small fishing
and agricultural communities in Iceland,
among them several historic houses and the
85-ton schooner Kútter Sigurfarí, the last sail-
ing ship in the Icelandic fleet.
