On May 20,1978 the Giant Canada Goose statue was unveiled in Lundar. The bronze plaque on the statue reads: “The Gi-
ant Canada Goose, symbol of our community, which was brought back from near extinction through the foresight of Mr.
W.A. Murphy and Associates. Statue was designed and constructed by Lawrence King, painted by Marlene Hourd, spon-
sored by the Lundar Area Development board, 1976-77. Plaque donated by Mr. Peter Curry.”
