“Four Sons”
by Gary Gracirt, EM2
Being there are no actual pro-
gram changes in store for the TV
viewer this week. I would like to
take this opportunity to mention
one special program entitled,
“Let’s Go To The Fair”.
Let’s Go To The Fair
The opening night of the New
York World's Fair 1965 season of-
fers TV viewers their first com-
prehensive portrayal of the new
exhibits and attractions. Special
wide-angle lens afford a panora-
mic vision of the spectacular op-
ening night, the play of its
crowds, lights, music and soaring
fountains, from a vantage point
atop the 226-foot high New York
State Pavilion. Telescopic cameras
zero in for close-range apprecia-
tion of individual displays, in-
cluding authentic national dancers
and musicians of the international
pavilions.
Winston Churchill
In addition the brodcast takes
viewers to the displays and acti-
vities of the federal and state,
lake and transportation areas.
Among the new exhibits is “A
Tribute to Winston Churchill,”
comprising a replica of the library-
study at Churchill, his country
home.
All this and much more will be
seen Wednesday night at 8:30
p.m., when Channel Eight pres-
ents, “Let’s Go To The Fair.”
New Commanders . . .
(Continued from page 1.)
Plans Group, Office of JCS;
War Plans Division, Hq USAF;
and Deputy chief for operations,
Hq. Central Air Defense Force.
Combat-Ready
Colonel Burke, a native of Okla-
homa, has a B.S. degree from
Oklahoma State University. He is
also a graduate of the National
War College and the Air Com-
mand and Staff School. He is a
command pilot and rated combat-
ready in the F-102.
Colonel Burke served in the Far
East as a fighter group com-
mander and later went to Turkey.
From June 1963 to June 1965 he
commanded the Sioux City Air
Defense Sector. As GADS com-
mander Colonel Burke will head
the largest sector in Air Defense
Command history, covering an
area larger than the continental
United States.
Soviet Partisans In World War II
by Armstrong
A systematic investigation of
Soviet and German documetation
that was captured at the close of
World War II is presented in this
work.
Partisan experience of World
War II constitutes the largest
single body of Soviet experience
in irregular warfare.
Besides providing an original
contribution to the history of
World War II, this volume is
important to the study of the
Soviet political system operating
under extreme stress.
