Toyland, Big Attraction To All Ages
Regardless of ones age, it is always a delightful experience to visit a store chocked
full of toys!
When Toyland opened Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Naval Station Keflavik, it was a pleasant
A LITTLE GIRLS’s DELIGHT, is a doll, complete with highchair. Kelly,
a princess herself, found a large selection of dolls, but the one here
is her choice.
“GEE MOMMIE, THIS TIGER is as big as me!” said Kelly, age 4, to
her mother Phyllis Heath. Accompanying sister and mother to Toy-
land was Gilbert, age 3, who commented, “This fluffy dog just tickled
my nose!”

sight to just stand around and observe the expression on the many faces of those vi-
siting the store, especially the younger set.
After each day’s sales, there always follows the unpacking of a newly arrived ship-
ment of more toys, pricing and restocking of shelves where toys once were previously
displayed. Some items received required assembling, but created no problem as there
was always an expert on hand to see an item properly put together.
The opening of any Toyland is an equal pleasure for those employed within and
often a clerk is just “a big kid” when he would choose a toy from a shelve and play
with it himself, wishing he again was a few years younger.
If you haven’t as yet visited Toyland, then do so right away as the selection there is
truly outstanding.
Santa Claus
The arrival date of Santa Claus is not known at this time. Last
report from the North Pole was that he was still working on a flight
plan. He did say, “Please inform all the kiddies at Naval Station
Keflavik, that I will arrive there first on my way south.”
Data of Santa’s arrival will be publicized in this newspaper and
over Armed Forces Radio. His mode of travel hasn’t been made
known yet either, and this is always a mystery, right up to the
moment he actually arrives.
TOYS GALORE!—Toyland was bare from wall to wall thirty days ago, but today it’s a different story, or was when this picture was taken.
Some toys arriving had to be assembled as was the case with the “Jet Sweep” automobile being assembled by Lieutenant Commander
Earl F. Mouton, Navy Exchange officer-in-cliarge.
