NE\7 PIGSKIN RULES
The Eastern Inter-Collegi-
ale Association has petition-
ed the National Collegiate
Athletic Association’s Foot-
ball Rules Committee to in-
corporate six changes voted
last fall into the playing
code.
The eastern group also
suggested two new changes,
asking more rigid restriction
of the use of arms on the of-
fensive.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE
WORST “DETAIL” YOU
HAVE EVER BEEN ON IN
THE ARMY?
“The worst one I’ve ever
been on since
being in the
Army is work-
ing on K.P.
under a cert-
ain sergeant
for a week
straight,” boo-
med Pfc. William J. Dittert,
Jr. of Collindale Pa. “What’s
more, I believe that I can
speak for the whole comp-
any. Ask any of the hoys!”
Bill, an tyl.P. here, was a
blue-print checker before
coining into the Army.

Tec 5 Norbert V. Weber
of Utica, N.Y.,
said, “Mine
was the clean-
i lg of the cor-
ridors on the
troopship
coming over-
s a a s. Oh,
brother! Need I go into de-
tail? It was a rough trip, the
men weie sick —- so was l
by the time I finished.” Nor-
bert was a carpenter prior
to induction.
“For a rough detail, no-
thin; surpass-
es the time I
was K.P. on
the Army
transport com-
ing to Iceland.
It was run hv
the Army and
it showed me that the Army
should stay on land! I had
to work for 16 hours straight,
without a break. Add to that
a dash of sea-sickness and
you’ll get an idea of what
it was like!” replied Pfc. Al-
bert F. Call. A native of Med-
ford, Mass., Albert was a
machinist in civilian life.
Pfc. Andrew Vrablil laugh-
ed, “I’ve had
so many terr-
ible ones I
don’t know
w hic h one
has been the
worst. I think
I’d split it be-
tween a coal detail and K.P.
although there has been the
latrine, road-gang, fire-keep-
ing and guard, to name only
some! I always seemed to be
at the wrong place at the
right time.” Andrew is from
Balitmore, Md., and was a
welder by trade.
